Magic, trend, guideline? A clarifying 'fact', and other source research can be read on allesoversport.nl, is that this number comes from a Japanese walking guideline from the 1960s where 10,000 primarily had a lot of marketing value: it was easy and simple for consumers to grasp. In any case, if in the evening your pedometer shows 10,000 steps or thereabouts: GREAT, on average we achieve four to six thousand steps per day! It is certain that (more) movement supports health.
10,000 steps is not the holy grail. Fewer steps with a focus on relaxation can yield the same or more results. Relaxation is also the basis for creativity and motivation. Combine your daily activities with a bit of conscious movement. Not only is it playful and fun to do, it provides more energy and calm for the day and leads to more activity.
Wishing you a great day of movement.
